Workshop Floor Painting made easier

Most paint suppliers instantly recommend a roller for painting workshop floors.

I beg to differ. The job is much more easily done with a cheap broom and washing up bowl. This allows you to scrub the paint into all the little crevices and saves a lot of backache. The bowl makes paint pickup easier too, often the paint tin isn't large enough to get the broom head in. To save cleaning the broom head inbetween coats, I simply wrap it in plastic bag which stops it going hard. When the job is finished I simply discard the £1.50 broom head although the bowl may live again for the same colour paint. I normally choose the nylon bristle broom head as it doesn't shed many bristles but you'd be wise to check that the paint you are using doesn't disolve the bristles!

Saves a lot of time and backache.
