| A couple of months ago I was lucky to be invited to a wonderful private railway hidden deep in the Worcestershire countryside. Only the British really know how to do this...... A wonderful Summer's afternoon, sun high in the sky, birdsong all around, all is well with the world. What better to do than invite your friends and run them around the grounds on your own Railway? Yours truly wouldn't have missed it for the world! |
|
| The owners of the house and grounds have allowed the Railway to spread slowly and take control.......Very sensible! Railways have a curious way of entising you into their mix of rustic charm and mechanical fascination. Some track scenes have a way of drawing the viewer's eye along them, as does this one. Few will look upon it without wondering what lies through the arch....... |

A long and complex track makes the run an interesting one. It is clear that many years of careful plotting and hard labour have gone into this project. Like many others, the owner of this Railway still has plans for changes and improvements! |
More delight awaits in the engine shed. Here is the Railway's 'Tinkerbell'. | |
| Off shed and ready for an afternoon's work... | |
| 'Tinkerbell' is huge on 7.25" axles and track, large enough for the driver to sit in and powerful enough to haul trains up the steepest bank on the railway. | |
| I couldn't resist one last shot.... | |
| Last but not least, the huge American loco recently brought to the Railway from Australia. Its sheer mass is obvious. If you are standing anywhere near it when a safety goes off it makes your whole body reverberate. |
|
| Passing my train on the loop, the scale of this loco is simply breathtaking.
|
| My thanks to the owners of this Railway for letting me share the experience for an afternoon......Long may they continue to enjoy it. |
